End-of-Sale Announcement for the ADH–2A COM and ADH–3COM Automatic Air Dehydrators
The ADH–2A COM and ADH–3COM dehydrators are being replaced by the ADH NETCOM dehydrators which were launched April 2009.
Last day to order these ADH–2A COM and ADH–3COM models will be June 15, 2009.
Introduction
The ADH models of automatic air dehydrators have a successful history of delivering pressurized dry air for telecommunication antenna pressurization systems since 1986 and is considered one of Environmental Technology's premier product lines. This is evident with thousands of units in the field today and the number of units still in service since the product line's inception. Many of the first units shipped are still in service today more than 20 years later.
In 1991 Environmental Technology introduced the ADH–2COM and entered the world of network managed equipment. These units featured RS-422/485 networking and provided support for the Scientific-Atlanta protocol, terminal monitoring, Master-Slave configuration and redundant dehydrator pairs. Since that time the ADH–2COM, and later the ADH–2A COM and ADH–3COM, have been integrated into M&C systems through out the industry.
Today, Environmental Technology continues the evolution of the ADH product line with the introduction of the new ADH NETCOM automatic air dehydrator with Ethernet communication. The ADH NETCOM dehydrator pushes automatic air dehydrator technology to the next level with integral support for HTTP, SNMP, UDP and TFTP communications while maintaining legacy communications support. With a wide range of field configurable options the ADH NETCOM automatic air dehydrator is ideal for both new installations and as a direct replacement for in service dehydrators.
End-Of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement
Environmental Technology announces the End of Sale (EoS)/End of Life (EoL) plan for the current ADH–2A COM and ADH–3COM model dehydrators. This includes the associated NEMA and DC models and all configuration variations.
Product Migration
The recommended replacement products are the Environmental Technology ADH NETCOM automatic air dehydrators. Customers are encouraged to migrate to the ADH NETCOM models, which meet or exceed the same performance specifications as the legacy ADH model dehydrators, but offer more in the way of configuration and communications. In direct comparison, the ADH NETCOM provide more value and functionality by providing the following:
- Easier to order and deploy with less part number options and fully configurable in the field
- A drop in replacement for previous ADH models in service and in specifications
- Future-proof software based features allow updates and upgrades in the field; next generation features easily downloaded and added through-out the life time of the product
- Remote monitoring and control expanded from previous models with a web interface and support for SNMP, UDP, TFTP and Scientific Atlanta protocol
- Ethernet, RS-422/485, RS-232 and alarm relay outputs expands networking options
- Simple, automatic power connections for 100-240VAC or ±20-75VDC
- A smaller, lighter chassis is only 16 pounds (24 pounds for outdoor NEMA) and extends only 12.5” into rack mounting systems.
- Standard indoor units can be configured for either rack and wall mounting. Rack mounted units can have mounting brackets installed at 0”, 2” 6” or 8” from front of unit
- Product lifetime extended to 15+ years; including the compressor which features brushless motor and metallic inlet muffler instead of fiber filter
These new dehydrators ship ready to be configured for the customer's network and the specific operational parameters for their pressurization system.

Continued Service and Warranty
End of Service (EoS) refers to the time when certain products are no longer available for new purchases; it does not apply to service and warranty programs. Environmental Technology will continue to support the listed products at least until the Product End of Life (EoL) date. Environmental Technology will always make a best effort to find replacements for any components that we can no longer obtain. Environmental Technology often provides service and support for 20+ year old products currently in the field but can not guarantee the availability of components for these unit indefinitely. Extended warranties are only valid for one additional year beyond the standard two-year warranty period and may only be purchased at the original time of sale.
